Kuala Lumpur, 23 January 2015  – University Malaya has celebrated it first graduate of International Certified Agency Manager (CAM) programme to support the growth of the insurance and Takaful industry at Bahamas Hall Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway.

The CAM programme that developed in partnership with Focal Point Management Consultants Sdn. Bhd is an initiative for the two organizations in resource of the acute need for human talent driven by rapid development of the insurance and Takaful sector in Asia.

The CAM programme that was started in July 2013, aims to train and develop competent agency managers to build quality and sustainable insurance and Takaful business.

The Director of University Malaya Centre for Continuing Education, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mansur Md Isa said, ”The CAM is our first industry-specific initiative. The insurance and Takaful sector in Asia is projected to grow out pacing other region in the next 15 years. There is clear need for talent to support this rapid growth. The programme teaches best practices completed with necessary tools. We are very encouraged by the sector’s response to our effort. In fact, we have also started the Programme in Indonesia in December last year”.

Since its establishment 73 agency managers from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Philippines, from 7 different companies has awarded the CAM Professional Designation programmes received very positive response from the insurance and Takaful sector across Asia.

The CAM programmes highlighted the 6 keys process that will assist the participants in managing for a sustainable insurance and Takaful business. The 6-step process consists of:
  1. Essentials of Agency Management- A 4-day management workshop plus an action project 
  2. Agency Management in Practice- A modulated 8-day skill-building seminar series plus action projects 
  3. Strategic Agency Management- A 4-day management workshop plus action project 
  4. Completion of a Major Project Paper documenting the manager’s agency development practice 
  5. Testimony by the principal company of the manager’s professionalism, performance and social contribution 
  6. Attendance of a Board Interview

The qualifiers of Certified Agency Manager are presented with their scroll for the graduation ceremony which was presented by Professor Dato’ Dr. Mansur Md Isa earlier that day.

Kuala Lumpur, 23 Januari 2015 – Universiti Malaya meraikan graduan program bagi Pengurus Agensi yang Diiktiraf (CAM) buat kali pertama di Dewan Bahamas, Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway.

Program kerjasama antara Universiti Malaya dan Focal Point Management Consultants Sdn. Bhd ini adalah satu inisiatif antara gabungan kedua-dua organisasi bagi memenuhi kekurangan pakar dalam bidang insurans dan Takaful.

Penubuhan CAM pada Julai 2013, bertanggungjawab melatih dan melahirkan pengurus agensi yang berkualiti yang akan memanpankan lagi industri insurans dan Takaful.

Pengarah Pusat Pendidikan Berterusan UniversitI Malaya (UMCCed) Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mansur Md Isa berkata, “Program CAM ini adalah inisiatif pertama UMCCed yang spesifik terhadap satu industri sektor insurans dan Takaful di Asia diramal akan berkembang pesat dalam 15 tahun merangkumi rantau lain. Oleh itu, kepakaran dalam bidang ini sangat diperlukan bagi menampung perkembangan yang sangat pesat.  Program itu mendidik dan melengkapkan peserta dengan kemahiran yang penting dalam industri. Kami juga teruja dengan maklumbalas yang kami terima hasil usaha daripada penubuhan program ini. Malah, kami juga telah memulakan program ini di Indonesia sejak Disember tahun lalu.”

Sejak penubuhannya 73 pengurus agensi dari Hong Kong, Malaysia dan Flipina, dari 7 syarikat berbeza yang dianugerahi CAM Professional Designation telah menerima maklumbalas yang positif dari sektor insurans dan Takaful rantau Asia.

CAM program mengetengahkan 6 kunci proses yang membantu peserta dalam menguruskan penampungan perniagaan insurans dan Takaful. 6 unci proses merangkumi:

  1. Kepentingan Agensi Pengurusan – 4 hari bengkel pengurusan bersama projek tindakan 
  2. Agensi Pengurusan Praktikal – Siri Modul 8 hari untuk seminar membina kemahiran beserta projek tindakan 
  3. Agensi Pengurusan Strategik – 4 hari pengurusan bengkel beserta projek tindakan 
  4. Penyiapan pendokumentasian Kertas Kerja Utama pembangunan pengurus agensi 
  5. Testimoni dari pengurus syarikat berkenaan profesionalism pengurus, prestasi dan sumbangan kepada masyarakat. 
  6. Kehadiran dalam Temuduga Majlis

Penerima yang layak diberikan skrol sempena majlis graduasi yang di sampaikan oleh Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mansur Md Isa.
